greetings all I should warn you all now I will be looking for a LOT of input on my current project. have a 75 dart swinger matching #'s car but am torn about keeping the 318 in it and making it a beast or just finding a nice 340 or 360 and bagging my 318 or even worry about keeping it. also need deal with the aweful flat black stripe down the side and some rear window trim work. Car is solid dry dry stored and minty interior dry stored most of its life now I am wrestling with selling this car and buying one already built up. Problem I have is that this car is a nice reasonably unmolested survivor. Except for the top banana yellow paint and flat black hood and engine compartment

Hello sweetdart75!
Welcome to the site. We are also available at West Coast Mopars on facebook. I empathize with your issues re the car. If you do decide to change the engine be sure to KEEP the #'s matching block. You never know what may come up down the road and somebody might really like the car with a numbers match. As for selling the car and buying one that is already finished, that sometimes comes down to finances and emotional attachment. It usually (...if not always) works out less expensive to buy one all finished than to have all the work done yourself. That being said, there is a lot to be derived in having your own car done up. The pride and the pain will always be there to remember. The emotional attachment varies from person to person and only you can be a judge of how much any one particular car means to you. Be warned that sometimes a car might not seem to mean all that much to you until you start to work on it, then it can become all-consuming!
Good Luck,
Tom.

Thanks for having me
This is far from my first adventure into cars. I built and restored 9 Vw bugs and drag raced a 68 dart back in the day. It's been 20 years since then and am excited to turn what I have into something I love! Still would take a 68 69 dart in a heartbeat. Will be picking brains and looking for resources in the group. Currently looking for a dual plane intake and 4 bbl to land on my 318 for the spring and it needs a ring job too so hopefully come summer she can come with me to a show or two. Not sure it's time YET to be in one. Thanks again Robert

Welcome in Robert....ask away...that's what we're here for! You'll enjoy this site, but if you need a bigger audience, FABO ( http://www.forabodiesonly.com) is a great site.I'm there under the same screen name.

I was talking to the seller of that car back in the fall, he was looking to trade it for a boat I think?
I, too, was turned off by the flat black stripe but that's not a show-stopper by any stretch. As long as the bones are good!

....and we are not discriminatory towards anybody's car at our show in May. As long as it's a Mopar, regardless of condition, you are more than welcome to attend. Hopefully you can be there!
Tom.
